It's obviously been some time since updating this site. I have a few minutes to update. First I will start with posting the completed pics of the cabin.

Some Projects I've been working on.

I thought I'd try my hand at making a handle for my neighbors favorite pastry knife.

While sitting in car at market. Just thought it was interesting how his reflection is in four places.

O.K. here is where the picture came from.

This is one of my favorite doors I designed. We have quite a few doors, so let me know if anyone in the U.S. is interested in Mahogany doors. They will come with the jambs. Most are six quarter doors. They are about 85 pounds each (without jams). We did four designs. All tongue and grooved. No screws. Very solid.

All natural Cocoa Beans.

Well that's it for now, as I've got a bit of work to do. Next time I will actually write something.

January 12, 2015

Over the past month, much has happened. Some good, some less than good. To get the less than good out of the way, we'll start there. Almost four weeks ago, I got a serious bacteria infection coupled with allergic skin reaction. I was in and out of hospitals during that time. Finally, the second round of I.V. antibiotics (three antibiotics) got me in the right direction. We were fortunate to not be late in the treatment, as it was moving fast and very aggressive. Not only did the infection area spread, but also started blistering and seeping and also the whole leg swelled up in a two hour period. Some spreading to chest and also started to spread all over my back, but not to the stage of blistering or hot painful heat. Today, I am into day 4 of walking. Yesterday, I took my first real shower. Yea! During the growing of the blisters, the pain was the worst.  A close second were the burning veins from the antibiotics.

So due to my situation, we as a family did not get to do too many fun things as a family, during Aspen's Christmas Vacation stay.

Before and during this time building was also being done on a small cabana up on our tallest hill about two hundred feet above our main house. So here are some picks.

The thatch roof work will be done this week. Yesterday, we all worked on the steps. It feels good to work again, but am still very tired.

All of the thatch work got done yesterday. The crew put up all of the thatch in just two days. The last day being rather long 7 to 7:30. They were really tired, so we insisted that they come up to the house for dinner. We were glad to have enough food for everyone. We are very pleased with the work.

Today, I worked on a small laminated table edged out in Mahogany.
